Jumper posted a 2-2 head-to-head record while finishing in fifth place in the 207 weight class during Sunday’s PA Women’s Collegiate State Championships at East Stroudsburg University.
Penn State Altoona student-athlete Hunter McMullen, of Colver, was announced as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Men’s Swimmer of the Week on Monday, Jan. 27. McMullen helped to lead the Lions to a 3-0 week that consisted of wins over nonconference opponents Lebanon Valley College, Juniata College and Elizabethtown College.
Selected to the Penn State Altoona Athletics Hall of Fame were Frank "Junie" Moore (men's basketball, 1947–1949), Reese Piper (men's basketball, 1971–1972), the 2000–2001 and 2001–2002 women's basketball teams, Tony Petulla (baseball, 2005–2008), Jimmy Baum (baseball, 2009–2012) and Cord Heine (baseball, 2009–2012). Moore enters the Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Achievement Inductee. The induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, in the Adler Athletic Complex.
